We heard that Brooke Collins, 22, of Juneau, Alaska, punched a large black bear in the snout to save her dachshund Fudge. Admitting she was
stupid to do it, she said it was the first thing she thought of. The startled bear dropped the dog and fled into the bush. Now that's what we call being a good friend! And a little instinctive as well! Perhaps Brooke could've also tempted the bear with lunch at Food for Me - or bought it a breakfast voucher?
Guess it depends on what plans the bear had for the week - it might have just been looking for a quick take-away snack! Either way we're glad Brooke, Fudge and the bear enjoyed a happy ending!
It does raise the question though - how would've you handled the situation? Bribery? Negotiation? Distraction? Direct action? We'd love to know your thoughts (leave a comment below).
PS - of course there'sa nifty prize for the most entertaining comment |
