We reckon that lovingly preparing 200+ brekkies on the weekend is a big feat...Well today is the 62nd anniversary of the start of the
Snowy River Hydro-electric scheme. It took 25 years to complete and during construction, over 100,000 men and women from over 30 countries worked on the Scheme. They built lots of dams, dug lots of holes in lived in pretty tough conditions for most of the time (think snow, ice, tents & huts - not a good combo!) All without a double-shot latte...unthinkable!
And with people from 30 different countries working on the scheme it would've been interesting to wander around the camps in the evening to smell, see and taste what was cooking! And if you have any connections to the Snowy Scheme, we'd love to hear about it!
