We hope you're enjoying your new home at Food for Me. It's been interesting hearing about the history of the building over the last few months. For many years
the building was occupied by JW's Bakery. Several customers remember coming in here as kids for their Saturday treat. Tom our catering delivery man did deliveries from JW's back in 1964- and Kevin our butcher remembers the ice works just across the road and there being another four butchers along 'the strip,' where he did his apprenticeship.
If you have similar stories or know of people who came in during the 'JW's days' we're keen to hear them. We hope to include a section on our website about it and other stories of East Vic Park. We're sure the JW team would like that - as much as you'll like this week's menu (Lamb burgers are back!) |
