What's your favourite sandwich?

Here's your chance for fame!

We all have a favourite sandwich. For some it involves bacon. For others just egg. Maybe even milo. Here's your chance to create the sandwich of your dreams. All you need to do is list the ingredients in the 'comments' section underneath. And leave your name. And possibly what you'd call the sandwich. (eg Spesh Spinach & chicken - or maybe Betty - Betty is a good name for a sandwich..)

Each week we'll select a 'Sambo of the Week'. If it's yours you'll get to have one for free. (And get your photo taken with the dream sandwich). Hooray! What an incredibly productive and exciting way to start 2010!

So get dreaming and leave your dream sambo in the comments section below!

  1. Favourite sandwich

A fresh french roll cut open and buttered to stuff with peppered mortadella, boiled egg, capers, freshly sliced and roasted aubergine, lots of pepper and salt then covered in a fresh tomato sauce (Pureed tomato with lots of garlic and basil and onion)A little rocket for some greenery...viola
I call it the "DOM" after my son..because it sounds woggy and it is!!
  2. Try this one! Bread roll or bread of own choice. Spread a healthy layer of cream cheese on one piece and avacado spread on the other. Add slices of turkey meat. Cover with one layer of tomoatoe slices and then cover with alfalfa. Now a generous squirt of chilli sauce. Close up the roll / sandwich (rolls are better) - and enjoy!
Hey, I don't eat at MYO just for fun, you know!
  3. Add cut Jalipinos, 1/4tsp ground coriander to 2tbsp bought baba ganoush. Spread mixture on each slice of sour dough bread. Add thick slice of roasted butternut pumpkin and strips of roasted red capsicum (skin off). Add baby spinach leaves. Salt and black pepper. Cut closed sandwich into 4 triangles and place on square plate with cut side up to show off colours. (aesthetics as important as taste!) Serve with mango cutney and capperberries on the side....call it Veggie Tango
  4. Ham (maybe a bit of other italian as well if you are feeling decadent). Marinated artichoke hearts, yellow and red marinated pepper (capsicum) slices (you know the ones out the jar). Bit of english spinach, bit of mayo and S & P and you are cooking with gas.

Am going to call it... The Yummo.
  5. Can't beat banana and honey or peanut paste and cucumber on fresh wholemeal bread (or any bread of choice) for a great snack!!! Have one of each for a real meal!!
  6. Nothing better than leg ham with jahlsberg cheese and mustard pickle. simple but so yum!

    I want one now...:'(
  7. Ham, Cheese and Pineapple on a Crusty Roll is like a compulsory Aussie Sanger in any decent deli's menu.:-D
  8. Snout and Stout
Layers of finely sliced roast pork, sea salts and an ooze of apple sauce on sour dough served with a Guinness to the side!
  9. My ethnic background roll!!!

A long parmesan freshly baked roll, cut on the side.
Lettuce, peeled carrot (not grated), thinly sliced Jarlsburg cheese(other wise the cheese will over power in the flavour), sliced kalamata olives, sliced red onion, grape vine tomatoes, jalapenos (only a few), roasted chicken peices and ranch dressing.

    Yummo :-D
  10. Favourite Sandwich:
    lamb
    Dijon mustard
tomato pickle or roast capsicum tapenade
white bean mashed with lots of raw garlic, olive oil and lemon pepper.
Maybe some lettuce for colour and on a wholemeal sourdough, or on Turkish bread

I'd call it the "Joan", after my wife; for she is a little lamb with more than a hint of mustard.
